AFCS operates from several locations in Los Angeles:

  • The Hollywood/West Hollywood area is the location of:
    – AFCS administrative offices
    – Wallis Annenberg Residential Treatment Program
    – Aviva High School (nonpublic)
    – Foster Family and Adoption Agency, and
    – Student Aftercare for Enrichment (SAFE) after school program.
  • The Community Mental Health Services programs are located in the mid-Wilshire and North Hollywood areas.
  • The Gang Intervention Program works with youth in the San Fernando Valley and the Venice/Fairfax Areas.

 

ADMINISTRATION

DIRECTOR OF QUALITY IMPROVEMENT– Oversee Quality Improvement (QI) Department. Lead COA reaccreditation process.

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Psychology required
  • Knowledge of DMH documentation requirements strongly preferred

 

COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

STAFF THERAPIST (BILINGUAL)- Conduct in-home psychotherapy and assessments for children and/or adolescents.

  • Master's in Social Work or Psychology and BBS number required
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required

CASE MANAGER - Assist in the delivery of mental health services of current clients and prospective client. Duties may include providing administrative support, community outreach and/or in-home services

  • BA/BS preferred
  • Experience in social services or mental health field preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

 

WRAPAROUND PROGRAM

CASE MANAGER - Provide administrative support related to the service delivery of wraparound clients. Duties will include corresponding with various agencies and transporting clients.

  1. BA/BS preferred
  2. Experience working with high risk youth and families preferred
  3. Experience in an office setting preferred

CHILD AND FAMILY SPECIALIST - Conduct in-home and school visits, link clients to community resources.

  1. BA in related field required
  2. Experience working with high risk youth and families required

INTERPRETER (ENGLISH/SPANISH) - Assist staff in English/Spanish translation with clients and/or families regarding treatment status and well-being by phone, in person or in writing.

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required
  2. Fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) required
  3. Professional translation experience strongly preferred

PARENT PARTNER – Coach and assist parents with Wraparound Services.

  • Must be a parent of a child who previously received services through the Department of Probation or the Department of Mental Health

FACILITATOR– Lead the Child Family Teams in accordance with the Wraparound model.

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related field plus 2-3 years experience working with severely emotionally disturbed youth and their families
  • Experience in crisis management and Wraparound preferred

 

RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM

RESIDENT COUNSELOR – Provide direct support to SED adolescent girls in group home setting.

  • BA Degree and experience working with SED adolescent girls preferred
