 Student Clubs
Student Council
, made up of six-to-eight students, who meet regularly to discuss and organize school events, assemblies, and trips. They also contribute to improving our school by making suggestions regarding volunteer and fundraising opportunities.

Hiking Club treks regularly into Runyon Canyon, Fryman Canyon (pictured below) and Griffith Park (where they also have been known to play tennis and swim).

Hiking Club

Here they are at the Huntington Museum and Gardens in Pasadena:

Science Club (aka "The Atomic Club") is our newest school club. Inspired by scientific "cool facts", the club aims to share their enthusiasm with the subject within the club and with other students.  Their first field trip was to the California Science Center in April.  Next steps...club t-shirts and volcano experiments!

FAQs

My student has an IEP, but she needs more mental health support (such as individual or family counseling, medication support, wraparound services, day treatment and/or residential placement) to be successful in school. What can I do?

Ask for a referral for an AB3632 assessment from the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Request this assessment by contacting your child's school.

What are the requirements for a high school diploma from LAUSD?

In order to earn a diploma, a student must pass the English and mathematics sections of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)**, complete all required coursework, and earn at least 230 credits. **The CAHSEE is currently not required for those students graduating in the Class of 2010, please click here for more information from the California Department of Education.
