General Information

Aviva High School (AHS) is a state-certified and WASC accredited nonpublic special education high school for girls in 7th through 12th grade. AHS is one of the very few all-girl nonpublic high schools in Los Angeles County. The curriculum and environment are specifically designed for at-risk teen girls who are in need of special academic, emotional, and behavioral support to maximize their educational potential.

Our maximum enrollment is 72 students: 36 students live at Aviva's residential treatment program, and 36 others are day-students who are referred from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and other local districts.

Admissions

Students must have an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) authorizing nonpublic school placement with an eligibility of Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Emotional Disturbance (ED), or Other Health Impairment/ADD (OHI). Students must reside within the LAUSD boundaries and their guardian must obtain a referral letter from LAUSD’s Nonpublic School Services Department. Students must also be female, at least 12 years of age and in the 7th grade or higher. Aviva High School may also be able admit students from surrounding school districts such as Alhambra USD, Culver City USD, and others (at the discretion of those districts).  Please call us for more information.
