Residents come to Aviva through the Juvenile Court System or Los Angeles County Department of Family and Children’s Services, having experienced horrific physical, sexual and/or emotional abuse. Many have substance abuse issues; histories of being commercially exploited; or criminal records. Pamela, a young women served by Aviva’s Residential Treatment Services.

Since I started at Aviva they helped me with my emotional challenges. They helped me by helping me get my life straight, because in the beginning I had a hard time realizing that I had to move forward in order to leave the past behind.
